RADIO TELEMETRY FOR CRUDE OIL MOORING INSTALLATION
'CONOCO LTD' |
| | | | | |
In 1997 PACSCOM won an order for the replacement of a radio telemetry system linking Conoco’s Crude Oil Offshore Mooring Buoy in the Humber Estuary to it’s shore base at Tetney.
The system features a high integrity radio scanning network, linked to an In Touch SCADA system at Tetney. In order to see key operating parameters from the Tanker’s bridge, a portable terminal was designed for use within 1 Km of the Buoy.
A second such terminal was supplied in 2002 with an In Built GPS. A further addition was the deployment of the 300T I.S. radio units to monitor Turntable valve positions and the discharge pipeline’s pressure to check for leaks.
In 2003 PACSCOM received an order to provide a duplicate Master Station to be installed on a new Monobuoy being delivered in 2004 by Monaco based SBM. This system will utilise a more modular rack based system and be built into the new Bouy’s deck installation.
A hot swap exercise is planned in the Estuary with the old replacing the new with no downtime.
