ABOUT US
Modern Factories all require better and lower cost methods of data collection and control, particularly in areas where monitoring has been performed manually or not at all.  PACSNET Radio systems are inexpensive to install and have a very low cost of ownership.   From the many installations which have assisted companies achieve significant savings as well as improve management information case studies are listed from a few in key industries:

SUGAR FACTORIES

Many UK Sugar Factories use a highly automated reception/storage/feed system to optimise the collection of raw materials for their plants.  Critical to this are the use of mobile loading machines and fully automated materials feed systems.

To ensure the safe and efficient operation of this equipment, it is essential communications and control signals are exchanged between these various pieces of machinery in real time with override systems controlled from the mobiles.

Radio communications ensures this can be achieved and the use of the highly secure and well proven PACSNET equipment for this has been an excellent solution operating reliably in all locations and operating conditions.

CAR PLANTS

Car and vehicle manufacturing plants are now highly automated.  The linking of actual line control devices by low power radio is at present not feasible using standard narrow band FM technology.

However the infrastructure and offsites support plus energy monitoring of the plant are areas which benefit enormously from PACSNET radio systems.  Using radio for reading electricity/gas and water meters through to the measurement of temperatures and other relevant signals radio in a cable less manner make it easier and cheaper to monitor and optimise energy reduction programmes.

CEMENT WORKS

Cement plants use a considerable volume of water and energy as well as generating effluent.  The size and location of plants regularly makes radio the ideal and cost effective method of monitoring the utilities and outfalls.  PACSNET systems have been used by many such plants as cabled monitoring systems are impractical or considerably more expensive than wireless techniques.

QUARRIES

Since legislation some years ago it has been a requirement to monitor on site explosive stores and other key facilities 24 hours a day.  This can be done in a number of ways but typically stores are at the actual quarry which are often remote sites with no normal communications to the stores.

Radio is an ideal technology for this, and PACSNET is the best solution as the on air protocol and network management techniques are well proven in high security applications.

PACSNET has been approved by ACPO and various Military bodies for such applications and is installed in a wide variety of similar locations.

FOAM AND PLASTICS MANUFACTURE

Critical to the safety of the manufacturing process in many plastics and foam type plants is the cooling and storage of product following manufacture.  PACSCOM manufacture a special system ideal for this which is portable and can be located where required either temporarily or on a permanent basis.

The system monitors temperatures and can automatically increase scan rates of monitoring if temperatures go through certain thresholds or achieve a particular rate of change.

These units are all battery powered and can be used in Zone 1, Zone 2  or safe areas. (ATEX EEx ia IIC T4).
